THE LINE is a video and sound installation that presents a drone’s perspective of the U.S.– Mexican border fence in Tijuana, creating a visual division of the image. The top-down view is intended to evoke associations with divinity, power, and surveillance. The repetitive, almost meditative rhythm of the ocean waves is accompanied by a voice-over that reflects, in personal and intimate fragments, on identity, (lack of) belonging, border-crossing, hope, and futility.
