FAITH is an experimental documentary short film created in cooperation with the filmmaker Rahim Unlu as a research project during Lisa Kohl's fellowship in Istanbul. It began with an encounter with an Afghan community living and working as paper collectors in ruins behind the shades of the Suleymaniye mosque in Vefa, an area in the district of Fatih. This essay portrays a rhythmic sequence of atmospheric still images, as well as shots from suburban areas in Istanbul. The background sound creates an overall mood that is supposed to be a reflection of the depicted parts of the city.
