About

Lisa Kohl was born in 1988 in Luxembourg, Luxembourg City. As a graduate of the Higher School of Visual Arts La Cambre (Brussels), she has developed an artistic practice which takes on various shapes : photographic series, sculptural installations, video and sound performances. In 2018-2019 she was a scholarship holder at the Artists‘ Residence Villa Aurora in Los Angeles (USA) through the Saxony-Anhalt Art Foundation. Realised in unique territories in Greece, California or at the Mexican Border, her photographic work has been recognised by numerous awards : nomination for the Edward Steichen Award (2019) ; winner of the Pierre Werner Award (2020) ; StART-up Studio Award by Œuvre Nationale de Secours Grande-Duchesse Charlotte Foundation (2020-2021). Curated by Danielle Igniti, Lët’z Arles asbl has been showing the artist's project ERRE at the Chapelle de la Charité, during the Rencontres de la Photographie d’Arles in 2021. ERRE is currently exhibited at the Contemporary Art Space – Konschthal Esch in Luxembourg.
