ELSEWHERE WITHIN HERE

ELSEWHERE WITHIN HERE represents an intervention in an area near the Greek-Turkish border. A total of 29 abandoned monoblocs

have been collected and assembled near a fence topped with barbed wire. The set serves as a metaphor for the endless column -

reminiscent of the Tower of Babel - establishing an iconographic connection between heaven and earth. Within this context, the sculptural intervention may be interpreted as an attempt to escape, symbolizing a crossing between two nations. The fence itself epitomizes division, separation, and exclusion. The sculpture thus becomes a support for the individual - a kind of ladder - facilitating movement to the other side.

However, what arises from this imagery is a profound sense of absence, suspended time, and, above all, the result of an action that may be destined for failure.

It‘s an attempt to create associations that evoke imaginary spaces and inhabited non-places in which the ephemeral and invisible converge. Drawing upon our collective memory, the artist invites us to reflect on identity, hope and futility of today‘s world.
