The two-channel video SURD brings together two real snapshots, accompanied by a voice-over monologue. The right side of the video shows a close-up of a vulnerable individual who recites on flight, homeland, and loss. As a counterpart, he creates a direct confrontation with the viewer. On the left, a smartphone screen displays a staged army propaganda pop video promoting the recruitment of new soldiers. This portrayal stands in stark contrast and dissonance to the intimate, personal reflections of the protagonist as he speaks about his own fate.
